Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-28
This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the ATC Radar Simulator website at atcradarsimulator.com (the “Site”), how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the Site you agree to this policy.
Who we are
ATC Radar Simulator is an independent, free, browser-based game. You can contact us on WhatsApp +971 55 927 9809.
Information we collect
You can play without an account. If you create one, we keep the details listed below; and third-party services collect limited technical and usage information automatically:
- Account data — if you create a free account: your name, email address, a securely hashed password (never the password itself), your best score, when you signed in, and whether you have Premium. Premium payments are processed by PayPal: we keep the PayPal order reference, never card details.
- Flight plans — plans you save in the Flight Plan Builder are stored with your account and are visible only to you.
- ATC Square — what you post on ATC Square, the Site's community (posts and their photos and video links, comments, likes, your profile photo and bio, and whom you follow), is public: anyone can see it, alongside your account name and best score. Photos are shrunk in your browser before they are uploaded, which also removes the data your camera stored in them, such as where they were taken. Reports you send are seen only by the moderators. When you upgrade to Premium, you can choose to have us post a public thank-you on ATC Square that names you — only if you tick the box on the payment screen.
- Flappy Pilot leaderboard — when you play while signed in, each score above zero is sent to us with the aircraft you flew, and we keep your best of each week and of all time. The leaderboard is public: it shows your account name, profile photo and best scores. Players who are not signed in are never on it, and their scores stay on their own device.
- ATC card maker — the photo you choose is processed in your browser and is never uploaded. If you choose to get a link to a finished card, that card picture — not the original photo — is stored and shown to anyone with the link, with the name and airport you put on it, until you delete it. Without an account, the key that deletes it is kept only in your browser. When someone reports a card, we keep a one-way hash of their connection so the same person can't report it twice.
- Usage & device data — via analytics tools: pages visited, approximate location (country/region), browser and device type, referring site, and general interaction data. This is aggregated and not used to identify you personally.
- Local storage — the game stores your preferences (such as radar layer settings and your cookie choice) in your browser's local storage. This stays on your device and is not sent to us.
- Advertising data — the third-party ad network whose banner appears in the simulator may collect data through cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, as described below.
- WhatsApp messages — if you contact us on WhatsApp, we receive your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name and what you send us. We use them only to reply to you and do not add you to any list. WhatsApp itself handles the messages under WhatsApp's Privacy Policy.
YouTube videos on ATC Square
A post on ATC Square can include a YouTube video. Until you press play, only the video's picture is shown — loaded from YouTube's image server (i.ytimg.com), which receives your IP address like any web server. When you press play, the video plays in YouTube's privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com), and YouTube's own terms and Google's Privacy Policy apply.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We and our partners use them for analytics and advertising. You can control cookies through the consent banner on the Site and through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how ads are shown but will not stop the game from working.
Advertising
The Site displays a banner supplied by a third-party advertising network. The advert is loaded inside its own isolated frame, and that network — not this Site — controls what is shown and may use cookies or similar technologies to select and measure ads.
- We do not share your personal information with advertisers, and the game itself does not collect personal data.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising from many vendors at www.aboutads.info/choices and, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
- Your browser settings and the consent banner on this Site let you reject non-essential cookies at any time.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics and counter.dev to understand how the Site is used so we can improve it. These services process data such as pages viewed and approximate location in aggregate. Google Analytics data is handled under Google's Privacy Policy.
Consent
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or reject non-essential (analytics and advertising) cookies. We use Google Consent Mode, which means our Google tags respect your choice — if you reject, ads and analytics operate in a limited, non-personalized way. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's storage for this Site.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete your own flight plans, ATC Square posts (with their photos) and comments, and unfollow members, at any time; for anything else about your account — including deleting it — contact us on WhatsApp +971 55 927 9809. Requests about analytics and advertising data are best directed to the third-party services above.
Data retention
We keep your account data, saved flight plans and ATC Square content for as long as your account exists or until you delete them; if you ask us to delete your account, we delete it together with that content. Analytics and advertising partners retain data according to their own policies.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
